Flemish-Palestinian from Gaza City: “I can only play with my nephews to distract them from the horror of war” | Israel-Palestine conflict

“We are under fire day and night. The children cry incessantly.” The Flemish-Palestinian poet Fatena Al Ghorra (49) is visiting her family in Gaza City for the first time in fifteen years, and just now the area is under attack by Israel. “The house shakes with every rocket strike, we have nowhere to go,” she says about the miserable condition she and her family are in.
