An apartment on the Meresberg in Veldhoven was evacuated around four o’clock on Thursday night after a confused woman turned on the gas tap and let her apartment run full of gas.
The concentration of gas was so high that the fire brigade decided to first ventilate the building before removing the confused woman from the house. She was taken in an ambulance.
Force
During the evacuation, the fire brigade had to force open the door of one apartment because no one responded to the shouting. It turned out that no one was home there.
The residents were able to return to their homes a little later.
