The port of Ostend has previously moved to the court against the French plans. The Flemish government will now support that procedure, Flemish Prime Minister Matthias Diependaele announces. At the same time, Flanders is planning its own procedure at the French Council of State against the environmental permit for the project.
“Flanders supports sustainable energy projects, but not at the expense of our economy, our port activity and coastal residents,” says Diependaele. “This project, less than 12 kilometers from our coast, threatens that.”
