Thomas Frank becomes the new team manager at the Europa League winner Tottenham Hotspur. The Dane follows the English traditional club on Poseteclou, which was released on Friday.
The 51-year-old Frank comes from Premier League competitor FC Brentford to the London city rival, where he receives a contract until 2028.
“With Thomas we get one of the most advanced and innovative head coach in the industry. He has many years of experience in player and squad development, and we look forward to going to our team,” said the Spurs.
Tottenham has to pay a transfer for Frank. The trainer allegedly had an exit clause of over ten million pounds (approx. 11.8 million euros) in the contract.
The Spurs had separated 16 days after the triumph in the Europa League from Postecoglou. The 59-year-old had coached the club in the final against Manchester United (1-0) for the first title in 17 years. In the league, however, the Spurs took a disappointing 17th place with ex-international Timo Werner.
Frank had led Brentford to the Premier League, and since 2016 he had been employed by the club from the west of London. In recent years he has established Brentford in the midfield of the league.
