The 32-year-old Maher has been without a club for a few months, after he left Damac FC from Saudi Arabia. This club took over for nearly two million from FC Utrecht a year and a half ago.

Maher’s Amsterdam broke through in professional football at AZ. In Alkmaar he played from 2010 to 2013. With AZ, Maher won the KNVB cup in his last season. A transfer to PSV followed. In his career, Maher also played for Osmanlispor, FC Twente and FC Utrecht, among others. In addition, the footballer born in Morocco wore the shirt of the Dutch national team five times.

Opportunity

At Telstar, Maher now gets the opportunity to stay fit. It is not clear whether Maher is also eligible for a contract with the PhD student from Velsen-Zuid.

Telstar will play two exhibition games on Saturday. At the fishing tournament in Katwijk, the club plays against Royal HFC at 1.30 pm and at 3.30 pm against VV Katwijk.
