Emotional words to say goodbye!

Urs Fischer (57) is no longer the coach of Union Berlin. After more than five years, the era of the Swiss, who despite the sporting crisis had a large number of fans behind him until the end, is ending.

Now Fischer is sending emotional words to the Union family!

Fischer says goodbye with a detailed statement on Instagram.

The ex-coach: “What have we experienced together… An incredible journey began in 2018, which celebrated its first major success in 2019 with promotion to the 1st Bundesliga. From then on it went steadily upward until the worst time hit us all in 2020… Corona!”

And further: “With the incredible support from all of you, we got through this difficult time together and were able to continue our successful streak… Cup semi-finals, Conference League, Europa League and, to top it all off, participation in the Campions League. Crazy, right?!!!”

The great successes were recently followed by a sporting downfall. Union is at the bottom of the list Bundesligait says in the Champions League also in last place in the group (one point).

Fischer on the crisis: “Unfortunately, there are always two sides to a coin and the last few weeks have cost us all a lot of energy. We tried everything, the team spent a lot, fought against this negative spiral with an iron will, unfortunately it didn’t pay off!”
