Peter Plate has given the first interview since Anna R.’s death. The Rosenstolz singer was found lifeless on Sunday (March 16, 2025) in her attic apartment in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Only her death could be found. The police hired their investigation. External negligence is excluded.
There will therefore be no autopsy. What Anna R. died at the age of 55 remains puzzling. Especially since her manager has given all speculation that she may have died of an autoimmune disease.
Peter Plate has now commented on Anna R.’s death. “I am currently in such a state. It all feels a bit unreal,” says the musician. In an interview with RTL, he says to wake up in the morning that this is characterized by disbelief.
Last phone call with Anna R. on December 25th
Plate had thanked for the support of the fans in the past few days with moving words on Instagram. And with Roland Kaiser personally, who covered the Rosenstolz-Hit “Love is everything” on his new album “Marathon”. The pop star is “a real friend” for Peter Plate. Kaiser had previously reminded of Anna R. and the Rosenstolz enmity.
In the interview, Peter Plate also tells of his last phone call with Anna R. that would have taken place on her birthday, i.e. on December 25th last year.
“It was really long,” says the 57-year-old. Anna R. prepared minced meat balls during the call. That was her birthday ritual. “Anna was just about to do minced meat balls. What she always does on her birthday. She said: ‘My parents come right away and I’m still hanging for two hours in time’.
The subsequent communication, until her death, then took place via SMS.
Peter Plate sums up: “Without Anna, I shouldn’t sit here at all. Without Anna, my whole life would have gone differently. Wouldn’t have gone so nice.”
