In Boemeldonck (Prinsenbeek), a car ran for the first time designed by AI, artificial intelligence. The car is entirely in the theme of the future and artificial intelligence. “The car represents an AI computer about what carnival can look like in 2100,” says Albert Meeuwissen from carnival association De Black Eagles.
On the car is someone who presses a red button. “Then something comes out of the head of the car and then you see something that is the future of carnival. That can be a prince or princess, or a council of eleven. It can be anything, “says Meeuwissen.
Blood, sweat and tears
Meeuwissen says that they got a bit stuck in coming up with a topic for the carnival car. “Then we said: we throw something in AI. Everything came out of it. It is easy with AI, but you also have to come up with the show and other things. ”
When asked if they have not made it easy for them by having everything done by AI, Meeuwissen says: “It is never easy to make a carnival car. But it helps. I do think that the level of all cars can go up in all parades by using AI. Ai is not the holy grail, but it is handy. We all did the construction of the car ourselves, there are blood, sweat and tears in it, “says Meeuwissen.
