The top game between 1. FC Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt turned into a spectacle. After the game, however, there were unpleasant scenes.

Worrying images from the top game in the Bundesliga: After the spectacular duel between 1. FC Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt (3:4), meter-high clouds of black smoke rose from the guest block in the Rheinenergiestadion. A fire had been lit on the fence. It was burning brightly.

According to t-online information, there was an extinguishing operation in the block. It was initially not clear what exactly was burning. However, it smelled like plastic. At the time of the fire, the block was still full of Eintracht fans.

It is also unclear whether the fire is related to the current protests by supporters of German professional clubs. Football fans all over Germany defended themselves against planned political measures in the stadiums this weekend. During the afternoon games in the first and second Bundesliga, the supporters protested with silence and posters.

They expressed their dissatisfaction at the Interior Ministers’ Conference from December 3rd to 5th. In all stadiums, the organized fans only started their chants after the twelfth minute – for the twelfth man, i.e. the fans behind the team.

At the game in Cologne, the Frankfurt supporters were the focus not only at the start of the game, but also after the break. In addition to pyroflares, they lit firecrackers and fired rockets – 60 minutes after the silent protest under the motto, referee Florian Badstübner interrupted the game for a few minutes.
