On Tuesday afternoon around Halfa Brand broke out in an apartment on the Dr. Cuyperslaan in Eindhoven. The fire is under control. Ten apartments have been evacuated.
Soon it was scaled up to GRIP-1 because of ‘uncertainty about the situation’ and ‘disabled people who need to be evacuated’, the fire brigade indicates.
GRIP is the upscaling of assistance in the event of major incidents. If GRIP-1 is announced, several disciplines are involved in combating a fire.
Evacuation
The fire brigade reported around a quarter to one, the fire brigade reported. It concerns about ten apartments on the fourth and fifth floor, which are half evacuated.
All evacuated people have been checked by the ambulance service. Reception is arranged by police and population care. A lot of smoke was released during the fire. The fire brigade came to the apartment complex with three extinguishing vehicles and the fire was still replacing around one o’clock.
Local residents
According to a number of residents, no one would live in the apartment in question because the residents would have been arrested. A resident would also be in the hospital.
