The fire brigade was called out with several vehicles on Monday evening for a wildfire on the Oude Willem in Appelscha.
Because the fire was difficult to reach, the fire brigade quickly scaled up to ‘medium fire’. Fire brigades from Appelscha, Oosterwolde, Smilde and Oldeberkoop were called in for the fire.
It is still unclear how the fire started. Tens of meters of nature were lost to the fire. The after-extinguishing work still takes a lot of time.
