Fire at car scrapyard in Beilen under control

At the Romhof in Beilen, a fire broke out this afternoon just after three o’clock in a number of old cars on the site of a metal processing company. Several scrap cars are separated from each other to give the fire brigade room to extinguish the fire.

One person suffered smoke inhalation and had to be treated in an ambulance. No injuries were reported, according to the fire service.

The fire service is calling on people to leave the fire, because smoke is being released. Many people would be close to the fire.

According to the fire service, the fire did not spread any further at 4 a.m., which means that the fire brigade has mastered the fire.
