More and more cyclists are being fined for using mobile phones in traffic. Figures that CD&V MP Franky Demon requested from Minister of Mobility Jean-Luc Crucke (Les Engagés) show that the number of PVs doubled in a few years to an average of eight per day. The province of Antwerp takes the cake with 40 percent of all fines, which are mainly handed out to male students and people in their twenties. Many minors also receive a fine.
