The nuisance in Kuurne came to a head during the Donkey Festival, a month ago now. A number of people were really attacked then, especially by young people from other municipalities.
But local young people have also been causing nuisance for some time. The problems have not increased, but are dormant. That is why Kuurne is now lowering the age for GAS fines.
The police have also spoken to 14 young people. Some will have to follow a guidance program to reduce their problem behavior.
