Fighting Hovocubo wins loaded first final match

An excellent start for Hovocubo in the battle for the national title. In ‘the best of three’, the Horinese won at home against FC Eindhoven, 3-1. The loaded match that had been canceled earlier was extremely sporting. The second game will take place in Eindhoven on Friday.

Finally the ball rolled in sports hall De Opgang in Zwaag. This game was supposed to take place last Friday, but then mayor Jan Nieuwenburg canceled the game due to a threat from an unclear angle. As a precaution, police still came by and there was extra deployment of security guards.

Aluminium

In the first half, the 350 supporters did not see much happen. Both teams showed great sportsmanship and were evenly matched. There were no goals, but the aluminum was hit three times. Twice by the visitors and for Hovocubo, Noureddine Oulad Ben Youssef was closest to a hit. The technician from Amsterdam hit the crossbar after a nice individual action.

After the break, the game image remained the same. Both teams mainly played each other around the ball at the height of the halfway line and it was difficult to create great opportunities. Nevertheless, the Brabant team did get the ball into the enemy goal halfway through the second half. A long shot from Dennis van den Eijnden disappeared into the top corner.

aklalouch

Hovocubo not only missed the suspended trainer Sander van Dijk, the Hoorn team also missed the effectiveness of club top scorer Iliass Bouzit. The international was seriously injured in the semi-final against Tigers Roermond. However, the home team did not give up in the exciting final phase. And the perseverance of the reigning national champion was rewarded just in time. Hicham Aklalouch made the important equalizer. And that meant extending, because there had to be a winner.

Extension

In that extension, both teams did not wish each other anything, only Hovocubo was a bit more efficient in the second part of the extension. First, Oualid Tarifit tapped in the ball from close range and shortly afterwards Abdessamad Attahiri decided the match.

The second game is on Friday at 8 p.m. in Eindhoven. If the Hovocubo of interim trainer Appie Marbah also wins this, the current national champion will extend the title. In the event of a loss, there is still a decision game in Eindhoven on Sunday.
