The second four -month period of 2025 again shows a decrease in the total number of fines issued. The biggest decrease is at speeding violations: almost 300,000 less than in the same period last year. Within the total of almost 2 million speed violations, a significant increase in the number of fines after checking with mobile radar sets can be seen: 333.293 in the second tertial of 2024, 433.149 in the second tertial of 2025.
Total WAHV
In total, 2,653,358 violations were found in the months of May, June, July and August, on the basis of the Administrative Enforcement of Traffic Regulations Act (WAHV), the so-called Mulder fines. In 2024 there were 2,901,661 in the same period. The three largest categories of violations are for speed (in 2024 2.276.052, in 2025 1.984.177), incorrect parking (in 2024 134.154, 2025: 145.302), and driving through red light (2024 73.476, 2025 67.718). The fall in the first Tertial of 2025 in the offenses of various entry bays, in 2024 within the ‘Other’ category, continued in the second tertial of 2025 in the second tertial. This concerns, for example, car -free inner cities or environmental zones.
Enforcement on retaining mobile device
There are striking shifts within the total. For example, almost 23,000 more fines have been issued for holding a mobile electronic device (especially handheld calls). They are partly due to the introduction of the so -called focus flashes of which there are now more than ten. But the police also remained active with the so -called monocam. Forty focus flashes will be active at the end of the year.
Enforcement police
The targeted checks of (especially) the police were also visible in other facts: handheld telephone use on the bike, not wearing the seat belt, bicycle lighting or, for example, the right overtaking showed all the rose figures. The percentage of standing positions by the police amounted to 7.4%.
Earlier, the police and for the fact that the decrease in the found violations based on registration number (especially through cameras) is probably partly due to the replacement of equipment.
