The German biathletes are currently running round. This moves the sports director to special praise.
Felix Bitterling praised the German biathletes in the highest tones in the sprint by Antholz after their double podium. “It couldn’t be better,” said the sports director of the German Ski Association (DSV): “It was a great competition for us.” The runner-up Selina Grotian and the third-placed Franziska Preuss “showed an exception race. They laid the basis at the shooting range with their zero-inlays, and did a good performance despite different division on the route.”
Despite the loss of 25 points on winner Lou JeanMonnot, Prussia did not want to struggle in the duel around the overall World Cup. “If you run on the podium, you always have to be satisfied. It is still a bit before the overall World Cup is decided. It is not a bad race just because the Lou was in front of me. I am still satisfied and happy, I’m happy about every podium. ” The cushion is still 117 points.
Top results in a series are never a matter of course. “It looks easier from the outside, but there is a lot of work behind it all summer,” said Preuss: “You shouldn’t let go mentally either. It is cool when it works.” With her currently enormous self -confidence, she wants to go further forward in the pursuer. “This is the plan,” said the 30-year-old clearly.
Grotian does not put any pressure on the hunting race on Saturday (from 1 p.m. in the LiveTicker from T-Online). “Persecution can run either way. Either it goes really well or it can go completely in your pants,” said the 20-year-old: “I don’t worry about it yet. I’m doing a quiet day first.” In any case, the Olympic routes from Antholz are “very good”, Grotian said with satisfaction.
