After terminating his contract with FC Zurich, former Bundesliga professional Steven Zuber (34) has found a new club. The 56-time Swiss international is moving back to the Greek capital, where he will have a contract with Atromitos Athens until June 30, 2027.

The former Frankfurt, Hoffenheim and Stuttgart player left the Bundesliga for Greece in the summer of 2021 to play for city rivals AEK Athens. After 119 appearances (25 goals), he moved back home to Switzerland to FCZ at the beginning of 2025, for whom he contributed four goals and assists in 19 games this season. But Zuber wanted to prove himself again.

“I had a nice and interesting time at the FCZ. Nevertheless, I would like to orient myself elsewhere. I would like to thank the FCZ for making this possible for me,” he said at the turn of the year about his contract termination. After signing with Atromitos, Zuber explained: “My first impressions of the team are (…) very positive and I am very happy to have come to this club to make a difference.” With 13 points from 16 games, Atromitos is only in twelfth place. “I can promise that I will give my all in every game,” emphasized Zuber.
