FC Schalke is looking for a new trainer. Only the reports roll over, then a club confirms negotiations – and publishes an angry statement.
A new name appeared during the coaching search for the football tradition club FC Schalke 04. According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the second division team will draw an exit clause in the contract of the Austrian Miron Muslic with the English second division relegated Plymouth Argyle to appoint him as the new head coach.
According to Romano, Hull City, who 1. FC Köln and Hannover 96 was interested in the 42-year-old. Sky and the “WAZ” also reported a little later that Muslic was the new top candidate at Schalke. According to Sky, the talks have progressed, but Hull City is also in the race.
With Plymouth Argyle in the past season, Muslic only took the penultimate place after taking over the post in January.
Muslic’s previous club was not enthusiastic about the negotiations of her trainer. In a statement, the club wrote: “Argyle confirms that we have reluctantly given permission to take up discussions with an association of the 2nd Bundesliga after he had the desire to speak to the German team and not to return to England.”
The club regularly communicated with Muslic after the end of the season and there were no problems. “We are frustrated by this decision,” the Plymouth continued. The structures and personnel decisions were coordinated on Muslic. “In addition, the club quickly committed new players and repeatedly received oral commitments from Miron that he feels an argyle and will do everything possible to help the club return to the second division,” the club continued.
Muslic signed a contract for three and a half years in January. “Now he leaves Argyle after only four months of his long -term commitment. We wish him all the best for his further career. We will not make any further comments at the present time,” concludes the message.
Before reporting about the Muslic negotiations, contradictory reports from the TV station Sky caused a sensation. The broadcaster had initially reported on Wednesday that FC Schalke will soon be able to unite with the previous Magdeburg coach Christian Titz.
A little later the station rowed back. Titz interrupted his summer vacation to have conversations. However, his goal should not have been Gelsenkirchen after all, then it suddenly said. Instead, Titz should probably deal with one of numerous other offers.
