Defending champion FC Liverpool is again in the final of the English football league cup.
The record winner turned the 0: 1 from the semi -final first leg against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening with a 4-0 (1-0) – and meets in the final on March 16 in the London Wembley Stadium on Newcastle United.
Cody Gakpo (34th) made up for the clearly superior hosts at the Angeld Road from the first leg, Mohamed Salah (51st) converted a penalty shortly after the break. With the 3-0 by the former Leipzig Dominik Szoboszlai (73.), the duel was decided, Virgil van Dijk (80th) met the final score.
The Spurs initially played without Mathys Tel, who switched from FC Bayern to London on the last day of the winter transfer period. The young Frenchman was substituted shortly before the end of the first half. Timo Werner was again not in the squad.
