Jonathan Tah also remains aware of the distance: the central defender is surprised by the developments in his former club.

National player Jonathan Tah is amazed at the stormy days at his ex-club Bayer Leverkusen. The rapid discharge of coach Erik Ten was “definitely,” said FC Bayern’s central defender on Tuesday in Herzogenaurach. “It was surprised by everyone, right?”

The central defender, who is currently traveling with the German national team, had switched from Bayer 04 to the Munich team this summer. The unrest in the past few weeks has not passed him without a trace. He would like that in Leverkusen “more calm again, that was a lot of change and unrest over the entire transfer phase – which is normal because they wanted a change”.

Tah would be happy, said the 29-year-old, “if everyone could only concentrate on playing football”. Tah does not doubt the quality of the squad: “You have a very good team that players who have added have top qualities.”

Tah also optimistically looks at the new face in his own cabin. Nicolas Jackson came to Munich as a last-minute transfer from Chelsea. “A lot was talked about. I saw that he is there, I’m happy,” said Tah. “I think we can be successful together.”
