Football player Jamal Musiala was operated on two days after his serious injury to the left leg at the club World Cup in the USA.
According to FC Bayern Munich, the intervention was successful. The 22-year-old offensive player had suffered a dislocation (removal) of the ankle and a broken fibula in Atlanta in the 0-2 in the quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday.
Musiala was flown back to Munich on Sunday. He is supposed to begin the first rehabilitation units on Tuesday, as the German record champion announced.
The exact downtime is open. He would “not be available for the next few months,” it said vague in the club announcement.
“This serious injury and the long failure are a real shock for Jamal and all of us. This affects FC Bayern. Everyone knows how immense Jamal is important for our game and what a central role he has for our team,” sports director Max Eberl said after the injury.
Musiala had injured itself in Atlanta shortly before half-time in an action against PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. The Italian punched for the ball and clamped the lower leg of the Bayern professional.
The left foot of Musiala then stood on the side. These pictures alone had indicated a bad injury.
