There have been internal doubts about Alphonso Davies at FC Bayern for several months. The Canadian is no longer unsaleable. But it remains to be seen whether there will even be a buyer for the defender.

FC Bayern opened the door to selling Alphonso Davies some time ago. Although the Canadian is still an absolute world-class player at his best, his ongoing injury problems in combination with his exorbitantly high salary have raised doubts on Säbener Straße as to whether it is really still a worthwhile deal.

But as open as the door is for a sale, the queue of interested parties is just as empty. For example, there have been no concrete attempts to lure them away this summer, although word of the Munich team has long since gotten around. The “kicker” therefore also speculates whether Davies might even be somewhat unsaleable. The magazine writes that there is “hardly” any market for the full-back. This realization has also already matured among the Bayern bosses.

At the same time, it is unclear whether the 25-year-old would even agree to a transfer. At no other club is he likely to get the around 20 million euros that he gets in Munich. And his contract there runs until the summer of 2030.

FC Bayern sends a clear signal to Davies

The fact that FC Bayern is currently working hard to sign Nathaniel Brown is another sign of how much trust in Davies has recently crumbled. The German World Cup rider is already in Munich with one and a half legs. If he doesn’t come as a direct replacement for Davies, then at least as a player who should and will put a lot of pressure on the Canadian.

However, FC Bayern has not yet completely given up hope that the “best Davies” will return. According to “kicker”, those responsible would like the return of the player who once earned the 20 million contract. Whether they see him again on Säbener Straße is entirely in the hands of the Canadian.
