President Herbert Hainer wants to stand for re -election at this year’s general meeting of FC Bayern Munich EV. As the German record champion announced, the 71-year-old will previously submit his candidacy at the meeting of the administrative advisory board on September 5.
Hainer: “Honor to me”
“It is an honor for me to be President of FC Bayern, and I would be happy if the Administrative Advisory Board again nominates me as a candidate,” said Hainer in a statement published on Monday. For the former Adidas board, it would be the third three-year term as President of the main association, his nomination and his choice are a matter of form.
Successor of Hoeneß
Hainer took over the office at the 2019 annual general meeting by Uli Hoeneß and had been re -elected three years later. There was no opponent. The President of the main association is also the chairman of the powerful supervisory board of FC Bayern Munich AG, which among other things belongs to Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Hainer has been a member of this committee since 2002.
General meeting in autumn
The general meeting of FC Bayern Munich EV is scheduled to take place this year on the weekend of October 31 to November. The exact termination takes place after the kick-off time of the then planned Bundesliga home game against Bayer Leverkusen.
