FC Bayern Munich: Good news from Goretzka

Munich/Sinsheim (dpa) – At FC Bayern Munich there are signs of an end to the long downtime of top performers Leon Goretzka and Alphonso Davies. The 21-year-old Canadian completed a running training session on the club grounds for the first time after a two-month break due to a myocarditis.

At 27-year-old Goretzka, who played his last game for the German record champions at the beginning of December, coach Julian Nagelsmann announced after the 1-1 draw at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday that the national player would be “partially burdened” again this Tuesday for the first time in the Team training: “The knee isn’t reacting at the moment, I hope it stays that way.”

Davies had recovered from the myocarditis, said Nagelsmann. “The fluid from the pericardium is gone and everything looks fine. But in any case – if everything goes well – he will still be missing for three to four weeks.” The fast full-back must first be reintroduced to loads.
