The criticism of the “thin” squad of FC Bayern Munich becomes louder. Uli Hoeneß, however, orders a shopping stop.
On Wednesday, Uli Hoeneß once again intervened in the day -to -day business of FC Bayern Munich and gave recommendations for action. “I would very much advocate filling the squad with a loan player who will be contracted by June 30, 2026,” said Hoeneß before the league start against RB Leipzig on Friday (Friday, 8.30 p.m. live on the radio -portage). In the current transfer efforts, the ideas of the honorary president and sports director Max Eberl are obviously apart.
Eberl was not surprised by Hoeneß ‘statement
After the prescribed shopping stop, Eberl is preparing for a complicated end to the transfer phase. “We have the prerequisite that the club has decided: we want to save money,” he said at a press conference on Thursday. “We have to become creative now. It is honestly not an easy task on the market.” Eberl would not have surprised the statements and orders by Hoeneß. The whole thing would have already been discussed internally. “I don’t find out about the public,” said Eberl.
At the same time, the 51-year-old made it clear that it was much more difficult to borrow top players than to commit to a firm-among other things because a emitted association then does not receive a high transfer fee. “We won’t put our heads in the sand,” said Eberl.
Offensive continues to thin – even Wanner Weg
The Munich search for the burst transfer of Nick Woltemade, for Jamal Musiala’s serious injury and after Thomas Müller’s, Leroy Sanés and Kingsley Comans are urgently looking for reinforcements.
Now the top talent Paul Wanner also leaves the record champion towards Eindhoven and tightens the location again. Because so far, only Luis Díaz is facing the several departures in the storm as a prominent newcomer. “We are relatively thin on the offensive and everyone can see that,” said Eberl remarkably clearly. There is also a departure on the defensive: Inter Milan should be interested in Min-Jae Kim.
With all the transfer developments, even the otherwise quiet Harry Kane became surprisingly clear. In his 14 years as a professional, the current Bayern squad was the “probably the smallest squad I have ever played in.” Time for Eberl, friend and Co. to become creative.
