FC Bayern legend ennobles young national player Jamal Musiala as “really unique”

Former England international Owen Hargreaves raves about Jamal Musiala, the youngster at his former club FC Bayern Munich.

“Every player is different, but Musiala is really unique. The first time I saw him play, he immediately reminded me of Kaká: the way he moves, how graceful he is, how good he dribbles,” said the 41-year-old in an interview with “eurosport.de” and compared the 19-year-old midfielder from FC Bayern Munich with the Brazilian world champion of 2002.

Hargreaves, who also played for Bayern from 2000 to 2007 and then for Manchester United and Manchester City, considers Musiala to be one of the possible stars at the World Cup in Qatar.

Bayern legend on Jamal Musiala: “Could be one of the stars of the tournament”

“The fact that he’s playing at such a high level at such a young age and in several positions shows to me his unique talent. If Germany do well, he could really be one of the stars of the tournament,” said Hargreaves.

Canadian-born Hargreaves regretted Musiala’s decision to play for Germany over England, having previously played for England youth teams up to Under-21s.

He’s faced that decision before, Hargreaves said. “We would have liked to see him in the England shirt.”
