FC Bayern is getting serious about super talent Assan Ouédraogo

There have been rumors for weeks about FC Bayern’s interest in top talent Assan Ouédraogo from FC Schalke 04. Now the German record champions are probably planning the first concrete steps to initiate a transfer.

According to “Sky”, a meeting between those in charge in Munich and Ouédraogo’s management is scheduled for the near future. Accordingly, both sides want to exchange their ideas.

FC Bayern wants to present its future vision for Ouédraogo, based on the observations and findings of the in-house scouting department about the 17-year-old offensive player. Sports director Christoph Freund has now taken care of the matter, it is said.

If there were actually a move to Munich, FC Bayern would have to transfer nine to twelve million euros to Schalke, according to Sky.

“Sport Bild” recently explained that the amount depends on several factors. Since Ouédraogo has not yet played a senior international match, Schalke plays in the second division and the receiving club would be from Germany, just seven million euros could ultimately be enough.

Ouédraogo currently has a youth contract with FC Schalke 04, which will automatically be converted into his first professional contract on his 18th birthday in May next year. According to reports, the then valid working paper will contain several exit clauses that can take effect as early as July 1, 2024.

FC Schalke 04: Not only FC Bayern is courting Assan Ouédraogo

However, it is not only FC Bayern that is courting Ouédraogo. RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to be looking into young talent.

Internationally, Ouédraogo is said to have made it onto AC Milan’s list and Liverpool FC’s shopping list, among others. Manchester United, Chelsea FC and Brighton & Hove Albion are also considered interested parties.

According to reports, Schalke is actually planning to buy Ouédraogo’s contract clauses as quickly as possible, with an adjustment to his salary or a one-off payment. However, due to the precarious sporting situation in the 2nd Bundesliga, the Knappen currently have few arguments on their side.
