Alphonso Davies (24) stays with Bayern in the long term. This was confirmed by the Munich team on Tuesday. Instead of leaving the record champion free of charge in the summer, for example to the Spanish top club Real Madrid, the Canadian signed a new contract until 2030 and is therefore the longest-bound professional in the Munich squad.
“We are among the characters in the new generation of our team that are increasingly taking responsibility. He grew up here – and he will continue to grow with the team, ”said sports director Max Eberl. Sports director Christoph Freund added: “Alphonso Davies developed into one of the best players in the world at FC Bayern in his position and aroused great interest. The fact that he wants to go his way here with us shows the importance of FC Bayern in international football – and that Alphonso found his sporting home in Munich. ”
For FC Bayern, it was hard work to move Davies to the signature. The topic has been circulating again and again for months. With the interest from Madrid, the player did not have the worst negotiation base, which shows the overall financial package of the contract. The “Sport Bild” names a total of around 120 million euros for the term by 2030.
Davies switched from Vancouver to Munich in January 2019 for 14 million euros, where he matured into a top player. Under the then coach Hansi Flick, Davies rose to Bayern’s regular in the 2020 triple season and impressed with his high-speed football. According to phases of changeable ideas, the left -back under Vincent Kompany again shows stable performance. “I came to Bayern at 18 and just wanted to learn as much as possible every day to become one of the best in my position,” said Davies. “Now I’m looking forward to another five years together. I’ve already achieved a lot here – but more will come. “
Davies, who contributed twelve goals and 34 templates in the Bayern jersey, have won the championship five times since his change from Vancouver in 2019, twice the DFB Cup and the Champions League and the club world championship. In the current season, he is one of the most recorded players at Bayern. So far, 25 games with more than 2,000 minutes of play have been booked. With a market value of 50 million euros, it also belongs to the top 5 of the most valuable professionals in the FCB squad.
