FC Bayern wants to save

After the shopping stop prescribed by the club bosses, Bayern Munich’s sports director Max Eberl is preparing for a complicated end to the transfer phase. “We have the prerequisite that the club has decided: we want to save money,” Eberl stated against RB Leipzig before the Bundesliga started on Friday evening (8:30 p.m.). “We have to become creative now. It is honestly not an easy task on the market.”

Uli Hoeneß had previously said as a long -time patron, honorary president and member of the supervisory board of the record champion of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” that only one player should be borrowed but should no longer be bought. Eberl described that he had already been communicated this internally and did not only learn from the media. When asked what he personally thinks of it, the manager said: “I don’t want to talk about my feelings now.”
Eberl with gallows humor according to Woltemade disposal to FC Bayern
Eberl also explained that it was of course much more difficult to borrow top players than to commit to a firm-among other things because a released association does not receive a high transfer. “We won’t put our heads in the sand,” he said, however, combative. When asked about Nick Woltemade, whose transfer of VfB Stuttgart, despite a total package of more than 60 million euros plus, rejected it, Eberl replied with gallows humor: “No idea what happens until September 1st. Perhaps Stuttgart lends him again – because we can borrow yes. Maybe we can get creative.”

After the departures of Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman and Mathys Tel, Paul Wanner will also leave Bayern and join the PSV Eindhoven. So far, only Luis Díaz has the number of farewells in the attack as a prominent newcomer. “We are relatively thin on the offensive and everyone can see that,” said Eberl remarkably clearly. The sports director justified that Wanner can still go anyway was that he obviously did not believe in his chance at Bavaria.
When asked how he could react to possible failures of offensive players with this squad that professionals like Raphaël Guerreiro or newcomer Tom Bischof were alternatives. “So Manuel Neuer will not play in the storm,” the coach flattested. He added: “I don’t like this victim position. I hate that.” He believes in his team. But Bishop is also out for the time being. As the Munich-based company announced, the 20-year-old had to undergo appendix surgery at short notice.
Ex-Leipzig Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea is still said to be a candidate at Bayern. Due to the strategy arranged above, a change threatens to fail. So far, Bayern have offered a loan including a purchase option, but the blues want to sell the attacker and are therefore said to have rejected the offer.
