FC Bayern: Dreesen confirms efforts to extend Ulreich’s contract

“Indebted to a great deal of gratitude”

Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich is set to extend his contract with FC Bayern Munich, which expires in the summer. According to a corresponding report from “Sport Bild”, CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said on Wednesday on “DAZN”: “We are in talks to extend the contract and are very optimistic that we can do it together. He more than deserves it and is a fantastic person.”

The 35-year-old has been the replacement for national goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (37) since 2015 with a short break and once again showed good performances at the start of the season until Neuer’s return. He came to FC Bayern from VfB Stuttgart more than eight years ago. In 2020 he moved to Hamburger SV for one season. “We owe Sven a huge debt of gratitude,” said Dreesen. Ulreich is said to want to stay in Munich and end his career there.
