FC Bayern discussed transfer of PSG superstar

According to media reports, FC Bayern is looking for a new midfielder. Now another prominent name has been linked to Munich: Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain.

According to “Sky”, FC Bayern is considering a possible transfer from Marco Verratti. The Italian is said to have been discussed as a possible alternative to the desired player Declan Rice, according to the “Transfer Update” program.

Marco Verratti joined PSG from his hometown club Pescara Calcio at the age of 19, where he developed into one of the best midfielders in Europe. Since then, the 30-year-old has played 414 competitive games for the French, and his 53 international caps for Italy are also evidence of great international class. In 2021 he became European champion, with Paris he won, among other things, eight championship titles and six cup wins.

According to “Sky”, FC Bayern will not force a transfer from Verratti, who is contractually bound to PSG until 2026. One became aware that in Joshua Kimmich one already has a similar type of player in the squad. Verratti’s strengths would also be seen more in the central and not in the defensive midfield.

In addition, the Munich squad planners are said to have recently dealt with three other players who have often been associated with FC Bayern: Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, Adrien Rabiot from Juventus Turin and Frenkie de Jong from FC Barcelona.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel is said to be convinced of his former protégé Kovacic, but according to “Sky” the Bayern bosses are less convinced. In the case of Adrien Rabiot, a move to Munich seems unrealistic because of his problems with Tuchel from their PSG time together, the program says. And for Frenkie de Jong, FC Barcelona’s transfer fee seems to be too big a problem.

Thomas Tuchel’s dream solution is said to be West Ham United’s Declan Rice. However, a commitment from the Englishman does not seem to be feasible at the moment due to the high transfer fee of over 100 million euros.
