FC Bayern | Davies transfer in 2024? Real Madrid hopes for “Kroos deal”

The transfer of Alphonso Davies is still high on Real Madrid’s wish list. If the Royals have their way, the Canadian’s move from FC Bayern to the Spanish record champions could be similar to that of Toni Kroos.

It is well known that Real Madrid are flirting with signing Alphonso Davies. In the summer of 2024, the Royals want to make their first concrete move. This is what the sports newspaper “AS” reports, among others.

Two things should make Real Madrid particularly positive. On the one hand, the term of Davies’ contract with FC Bayern, which ends in 2025. On the other hand, there is no sign of a contract extension for the full-back so far.

Real is hoping for a “contract discount” from FC Bayern

According to “AS”, Real is hoping for a second “Kroos deal” in the case of Davies. The Madrilenians also signed the midfielder in the summer of 2014, a year before the end of his Bayern contract – for a “bargain price” of just 25 million euros. The newspaper reports that they are now hoping for a similar “contract discount” in the case of Davies.

The Real bosses are expected to expect a high transfer fee from Munich despite the short remaining term. However, the royal executive board is convinced that in the end the Munich team’s “common sense” will ensure that the price is not set exorbitantly high in the negotiations with FC Bayern.

Real creates squad space for Alphonso Davies

In order to make room in the squad for Davies, the Royals have long since made another transfer decision, according to “AS”. Ferland Mendy will have to leave the club by next summer at the latest. The Frenchman has been on the scratch list for a long time, but so far Real has not found a taker.

According to the report, in order to solve the problem, Real Madrid is prepared to significantly lower its transfer fee for Mendy – in order to ultimately fulfill the great wish of signing Davies without any further hurdles.
