Bayern Munich’s footballers remain unbeaten in the Champions League and have their sights set on winning the group. On the fifth matchday, coach Alexander Straus’s team defeated Juventus Turin 4-0 (1-0). Because pursuers FC Arsenal also won (3-1 at Valerenga IF), the final for group victory will now take place on December 18th (9 p.m./DAZN) in London.

“The numbers are crazy, definitely one of our best performances of the season,” said Straus, pleased about the dominant performance with almost 70 percent ball possession and 20:7 shots on goal: “That’s exactly how we want to play. I haven’t seen some players so strong in a long time. I I’m really proud.”

The player of the evening in front of 2,500 spectators in the Aschheim sports park and under the eyes of national coach Christian Wück was national player Klara Bühl. First she hit the crossbar, Jovana Damnjanovic (22nd) used the rebound to take the lead. Bühl prepared Pernille Harder’s 2-0 goal – the sixth goal in the current competition for the Dane – in an exemplary manner (52nd) – and also crowned her strong performance with a goal of her own (73rd). The 18-year-old Alara Sehitler scored the final point just two minutes after coming on as a substitute (82′).

Bayern, who failed in the group stage last year, lead the table before the final matchday with 13 points ahead of Arsenal (12 points). A draw in London is enough to gain a better starting position for the round of the top eight. Quarter and semi-finals will be drawn on February 7, 2025.
