FC Bayern has extended the last expired contract of replacement goalkeeper Sven Ulreich by another year until June 2026. The record champion announced on Tuesday. Sports board member Max Eberl said: “Sven Ulreich is reliability in person: He does what he promises – in the truest sense of the word. Characters like him do every team well. We are very happy that we have another season with us.”

This should be the goalkeeper team of the German record champion for the coming season. Most recently, a career end of Ulreichs and a job in the club had also been discussed in a different position. Hendrik Bonmann (31, Ludogorets) had been traded as the successor. In addition to Ulreich, captain Manuel Neuer (39) is bound for another year, the first deputy is the Jonas Urbig (21), who was signed from Cologne in winter.

Daniel Peretz (25) recently went on a loan – without a purchase option – to the promoted Hamburger SV, where he challenges the previous number one Daniel Heuer Fernandes (32). The 36-year-old Ulreich changed from his training association VfB to Munich in 2015 for 3.5 million euros. In 2020 he went to HSV in the 2nd league free of charge, but returned to FC Bayern after a disappointing season and the missed promotion with the North Germans. Despite his role as a reliable replacement, Ulreich can already demonstrate 103 missions for FCB, which means that he is eighth in the ranking of the club’s record goalkeepers-between Fritz Kosar (104 games) and Walter Junghans (101). With the Munich team, he won, among other things, nine championships, three times the DFB Cup and once the Champions League.
