FC Bayern’s women are currently on the road to success. Unbeaten at the top of the Bundesliga and also in the premier class, things are going really smoothly after home wins against Turin and Arsenal. The celebration should continue at Paris Saint-Germain.

The FC Bayern Women want to continue to build on their good series: José Barcala’s team is still unbeaten in the Bundesliga and is confidently leading the table. After initial difficulties in the Champions League, the Bayern engine is slowly getting going: the 1:7 defeat against FC Barcelona is ticked off, strengthened after victories against Juventus Turin and Arsenal FC, we are now moving on to the next highlight against Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal victory “priceless for self-confidence”

A good two weeks after the FCB men played in one at the Parc des Princes gripping crime thriller PSG defeated 2-1, the Bayern women can also play there. So again in a big stadium – like last time against Arsenal, when the Munich team started to catch up, cheered on by over 15,000 fans in the Allianz Arena. They were 2-0 down at half-time before turning the game around after the break and winning 3-2.

“If you manage to make a comeback like that after a difficult first half, it’s priceless for your self-confidence. It strengthens your belief in cohesion. If you stay calm and find solutions, you’ll overcome your difficulties,” says coach Barcala in the BR24Sport interview.

PSG – from industry leader to underdog

On paper, the role of favorites is clearly distributed: PSG has not been able to win a game in the premier class so far, and things are not going as planned for the former industry leader in the league either. The Champions League winners of 2015 and 2017 are in transition and numerous stars have left the team.

But the German double winner should be warned: PSG has to win to have a chance of progressing. “We expect a very aggressive team in Paris. But if we bring our qualities to the pitch, we will win,” says Bayern player Franziska Kett. The FC Bayern women can follow an example from their colleagues: act courageously and defend dominantly.
