After moving into the semi -finals of the Champions League, the mood at FC Barcelona should actually be good. But coach Hansi Flick is mad at the league.

If you play at FC Barcelona and is a national player, you don’t get a break. Since the beginning of March, the Catalans’ professionals have not had a week in which there were no three games. A great success on the one hand, because it means that Barça is still represented in all competitions. On the other hand, there is also a great burden, which depends on every little break.

Trainer Hansi Flick misses these breaks when you look at the game calendar in the coming weeks. The next league approval in Mallorca will follow on the game on Easter Saturday against Celta Vigo. On Saturday, the cup final against Real Madrid will get down to business. The game kicks off at 10 p.m. But on Wednesday Inter Milan is waiting in the Champions League. On Saturday evening the next league game at Real Valladolid is coming up at 9 p.m., exactly 72 hours before the decisive second leg against Inter.

At the press conference before the game against Celta Vigo, Flick criticized the late times that his team has to do. “That shouldn’t be an excuse, but for me it is a joke. Why can’t we play our away games at 4 or 6 p.m., as is the case with our home games.” Even the leagueaepartia before the return games against Borussia Dortmund had taken place at 9 p.m. “You have done it again,” complained Flick about the decision -makers in the league.

“We arrive very late after such a game, around four in the morning. I have never experienced such a schedule anywhere else, only in the Spanish league,” he was annoyed. He has no words for those responsible, according to the ex-national coach.

In France, games were even postponed so that Paris Saint-Germain is more relaxed in international competition. Flick also wants such a way of thinking for Spain: “It would be a good thing for La Liga. Spain would have the chance of a fifth team in the Champions League. Other nations are better careful of their Champions League teams.”
