FC Barcelona apparently has BVB players in their sights

Julian Ryerson has earned a high status at Borussia Dortmund. The Norwegian has probably also attracted attention abroad with his achievements.
According to a report from the TV channel Sky, FC Barcelona has BVB defender Julian Ryerson in its sights. Accordingly, the top Spanish club would like to bring in a new player for the right side of the defense who will invigorate the competition with Jules Koundé. Ryerson fits exactly into the requirements profile of coach Hansi Flick.
According to Sky, initial discussions have already taken place between the Catalans and the Norwegian’s management. But: If Barcelona actually want to sign the 28-year-old, they would also have to talk to Borussia Dortmund. Because Ryerson’s contract with BVB is valid until 2028. So a transfer fee would be due.
But FC Barcelona should be able to handle that, because Ryerson’s market value is around 20 million euros, according to the portal “transfermarkt.de”. Due to his 28 years, the dynamic full-back will not be particularly expensive. BVB paid Union Berlin almost five million euros for him in January 2023, making use of an exit clause.
Ryerson played more than 120 games in almost three years at BVB and was involved in 18 goals. What his trainers particularly appreciated about him was his hard work and his versatility. Ryerson can not only play on the right side of defense, but also on the left side. That will also make him interesting for Barcelona.
If the Catalans’ interest becomes more concrete and Ryerson actually leaves BVB, Dortmund would probably also look for a replacement. With Yan Couto, the Black and Yellows only have one right defender left in their squad.
