The AS Monaco has increased for the third time this summer. The former top talent Ansu Fati changes from FC Barcelona to the Principality. The 22 -year -old wing striker comes for a year, including a purchase option, which is to amount to 11 million euros. In the course of the change, the Catalans also confirmed an extension with the attacker by 2028. Before Fati, the Monegassen had already signed FC Bayern’s Eric dier and the former world champion Paul Pogba.
Fati, who was only used 298 minutes under coach Hansi Flick in 2024/25, starts a fresh start. Again and again he was thrown back in his young career of injuries, which also had an impact on his market value. In the past twelve months, his taxation has dropped from 25 million to 5 million euros. For comparison: his career high value was 80 million euros at the end of 2020. As a result, a meniscal tear, thigh injuries and calf injuries caused a full medical record and eight market value devaluations.
Should Fati be started again in Monaco and committed again, Barça was reported to be a buyback option for EUR 28 million. For the ten-time Spanish international, it is the second loan after a disappointing 2023/24 season in the Brighton jersey. To date, there are 123 games with 29 goals and eight templates for Barcelona.
