Irvin Cardona no longer returns to FC Augsburg. The 27-year-old center forwarder moves to the AS Saint-Étienne to his homeland of France after a previous loan. The Ligue-1 relegated user makes use of its purchase option. As early as the second half of 2023/24, the attacker had run for Saint-Étienne and helped the team to promotion with eleven goal participations in 19 games. He also met twice in the promotion playoffs. An interim rental adventure for Espanyol Barcelona was canceled at the end of January.
Cardona switched from Stade Brest to FC Augsburg for 500,000 euros in January 2023 and completed 13 games for the Fuggerstadt professionals, in which he reaches two scorers. FCA managing director Michael Ströll said: “The permanent change is a good solution for everyone involved. Irvin gets the chance to play an important role in his new club. We thank him for his commitment to the FCA and wish him all the best for the future.”
