Favorable cup draw for AZ, AFC to Vitesse in KNVB Cup eighth finals

AZ and AFC were the only North Holland club in the pipeline for the draw for the eighth finals of the KNVB caller. The Alkmaarders are linked to Quick Boys. The amateurs eliminated NAC Breda this week. AFC visits Vitesse

AZ qualified for the next round of the KNVB Cup yesterday. Under appalling circumstances, the amateurs of HHC Hardenberg were kneecapped after extra time. Pascal Jansen’s team won 3-2 at Sportpark de Boshoek. The trainer afterwards called it a match in the ‘top 5 worst matches ever’. Quick Boys is number two in the second division.

AFC won against RKAV Volendam last night. The Amsterdam team won 1-0 in the FC Volendam stadium thanks to a goal by Wessel Been. The team of coach Benno Nihom is in eighth place in the second division.

The matches in the KNVB Cup will be played on January 16, 17 and 18. The match between PSV and FC Twente was canceled earlier tonight due to the unplayable pitch.
