Racism remains a persistent problem in Spain’s football stadiums. Now a Granada fan was held responsible for his actions.

The criminal court in Granada had made the judgment against the trailer, as Spanish media reported, citing justice spokesman. The court itself confirmed the judgment at the request of the German Press Agency.
The incident occurred on February 28, 2022 during the first division game between FC Granada and Cádiz Cf. The fan is said to have insulted Cádiz player Carlos Akapo several times racially. According to the judgment, he made monkeys -like gestures in the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes and repeatedly called “monkey” towards the defender. At that time, parts of the insults were also documented by media.
However, the convicted fan is likely to not have to go to prison. In Spain, prison sentences of up to two years are generally exposed to probation for non -convicted accused.
Racism in football remains a problem in Spain. Because despite the efforts of the National Football Association and the professional league, there are always racist incidents in the stadiums.
