Since 2018, the NGO Anaka has been committed to emancipation of Madagassian women by taking up employment, schooling for children and environmental protection. Since these goals correspond exactly to the values of Longchamp, the Maison has decided to work with Anaka the third season in a row and create two new pieces that are much more than mere fashion accessories.

For the 2025 summer collection entitled “Live Green!” The teams from Longchamp and the artisans from Anaka have chosen the Raffia material, which is grown on the island of Madagascar on a large scale. The ancient art of weaving of bast fibers, which are firm and flexible at the same time, is passed on by one generation to the next. This high-quality vegetable material, which is obtained from a palm type, naturally fits into the 2025 summer collection, which is inspired by the positive and carefree energy of a rural idyll.

Longchamp X Anaka’s fishing hat protects against the sun and attracts admiring looks when the Parisian is harvesting fresh vegetables or taking a walk across dirt roads to the weekly market. The hand-woven natural straw fibers are decorated with a longchamp leather label. It is the perfect accessory with which the Parisian can transform a city trip into a trip to the country.

The second product in the current SS25 collection, which was created in cooperation with the NGO Anaka, is the chic version of the network shopping bag. It can be carried over the shoulder or in her hand. Her Raffia fringes look as lively as a bouquet of freshly picked herbs. This new edition of the network bag from the Le Pliage Collection combines originality with Savoir-Fair and is therefore an absolute must-have of the season.

In 2024, the collaboration between Longchamp and Anaka enabled 40 women to find work in the workshop of Anaka, and 66 children to go to school.

“When we heard from the NGO Anaka for the first time, we immediately recognized how well the initiatives for the emancipation of women through employment, school education for children and for environmental protection fit our CSR projects here at Longchamp. We look forward to working with these wonderful craftsmen again whose talent and artistry are simply unique! Your manual work testifies to creativity that gives what we do a deeper meaning. ” – Sophie Delafontaine, Creative Director of Longchamp.
