Johan Derksen is extremely surprised about the departure of Albert Verlinde at today Inside. He has the idea that the show connoisseur is switching to RTL for the money. “He takes five euros more!”
It is an unexpected move: Nine years after his departure at RTL Boulevard, Albert Verlinde returns to the tube at RTL 4. He will be one of the fixed faces of the new late talk show RTL Tonight and that is striking because he had just started this year as a regular substitute for René van der Gijp in today’s broadcasts.
Five euros more
Johan Derksen had absolutely not seen it coming. “Well, it was a complete surprise, because Albert was very happy with us and we were also very happy with Albert, but ehh, yes, nothing human is strange to him. He will get five euros more there,” says the SBS 6 mustache for the camera of Shownieuws.
It was an asset to the show, he thinks. “It was a very pleasant colleague. It is not easy to find people we have chemistry with. We regularly try new people and often that is not successful and Albert sat there and it was fine immediately.”
No contract
It is a miss that Albert had not received a contract from Talpa, says Johan. “I now understood from Albert that he did not have a contract with us. He was paid per broadcast and Albert is a boy who better gives you a contract, but he is gone, it is a great pity, but the world does not perish.”
Is he afraid of the new RTL Today? “No dude, I don’t see anything as competition. Nobody is more ordinary than we do.”
Then jokingly: “That t ** can get the lacquer! Defower! False niece!”
“I want Victor!”
Who sees Johan as the most suitable successors for Albert? “I am a terrible enthusiast of Wierd Duk. I think he is the very best man for talk shows, because he is very broadly oriented.”
He concludes: “We could alternate with Victor Vlam. I think Victor Vlam is also very good. He can stick people behind the wallpaper with very neat arguments. He remains Lord and he says the most terrible things. I really like his style.”
