Emotions at Castricum
At Castricum the disappointment was great and there were tears to be seen after the defeat. “We invest a lot of time in it. It is a downer if you are well behind after the first half. If you are then tired, the emotions come up,” said trainer Mats Marcker afterwards. Marcker was critical of himself afterwards. He chose to play a different defensive system this match and it didn’t work out well. “Partly because of this, we lost,” said a self-critical Marcker.
Castricum captain Dirk Wieringa was sporty afterwards. “Credits to Haarlem, they played well. What we did wrong was the new defensive system,” says Wieringa.
