The course of just over 3 kilometers also includes three hills. The start and finish zone is traditionally located in Stationsstraat in Ardooie. Last year the victory went to Michael Vanthourenhout, ahead of Eli Iserbyt and Witse Meeussen. The latter already won twice in the early season and is now looking ahead. “I had a lot of bad luck last season and also suffered a broken collarbone. As a result, I missed a lot of races. In Ardooie I am aiming for a podium place again. I rode there twice and always had a good feeling about it. It is an atypical cross, on a lot of pasture, and one of the few independent organizations left.”
For women, the Kermiscross is in its tenth edition. Last year the victory went to the Dutch Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. She then beat Marion Norbert Riberolle and Alicia Franck. The latter two are present again, as are Lucinda Brand and Inge van der Heijden.
