According to contradictory statements about his future, a report from Italy now apparently brings light into the dark. CESC Fàbregas is said to have decided.

The rumor mill around the former world and European champion CESC Fàbregas has recently ploted a lot. Media reports from Germany and Italy speculated about a possible change from the trainer to the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig were considered possible interested parties. However, according to Sky Italia, the 38-year-old has now decided to stay at Como 1907.

The Italian first division club apparently continues to plan with the Spaniard – and not only at short notice. Fàbregas has a contract until 2028. According to the report, there are positive discussions about the common future. An increase in salary should also be an issue.

The fact that the trainer deals with a possible farewell was fueled by his own statements on the weekend after the 3-1 success of Cagliari. Fàbregas had referred to the emotional bond with the club – and at the same time left open whether he would continue to stay.

“What also happens, I will always be grateful to the club for what he gave me. I am very proud of what was built around Como. I want to leave a legacy if I go away. The one who comes after me will find a strong club,” said the Spaniard after the final whistle.

Fàbregas, who became world champion with Spain 2010 and in 2008 and 2012 European champion, shaped Como as a surprise team of Series A this season. He vaguely replied to questions about his personal future and the importance of emotional factors: “If the moment comes, we will announce something.”
