Deputy mayor Gerrit Overmans van Hilvarenbeek says he has been shocked by the explosion at the home of councilor Gon Boers. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, an explosive went to the house of the founder of the local party Hi. At that time, Boers was on vacation in Northern Italy and returned in a hurry with her husband.
“The police pick up the case very seriously and are investigating the incident,” says Overmans. “We hope that the research will soon provide clarity. We think it is important that councilors and other drivers can do their work in safety.”
The explosion caused a lot of damage to the house on Horsestraat in Hilvarenbeek. Especially inside the hall, a big havoc was created due to the blow. Several local residents heard the hard bang around half past three in the morning, but the damage was only noticed later on Thursday morning, after which the police were called. What exactly exploded is still being investigated.

The municipality says it is in close contact with the councilor and to offer support where necessary. Boers indicated on Friday morning that she is currently assuming a bad boy and not an attack.
“I don’t think it has to do with my politics and have never had threats or messages,” she says. But she admits that it is haunting her head.
