Exceptional talent Uzun secures FCN late victory in Magdeburg

Can Uzun keeps getting better. The exceptional talent secured a late three-pointer for Nuremberg in Magdeburg – and is therefore making himself more and more interesting for top clubs.

Only 18 years old, Can Uzun is increasingly becoming one of the most sought-after talents in Europe. In the top game of the 2nd Bundesliga, Uzun secured a 1-0 (0-0) victory for 1. FC Nürnberg at 1. FC Magdeburg with the goal of the day in the 81st minute. This may have made the offensive whirlwind even more interesting for top European clubs.

Recently there have been repeated rumors that top European clubs such as Inter Milan are interested in Uzun. Among other things, “Sky” reported about it. There should also be interested parties from the Bundesliga.

Nuremberg has ended its winless streak in foreign places in 2024 and has moved away from the relegation zone. The “Club” is now eighth, Magdeburg is in twelfth place.

That’s how the game went

In front of 26,680 spectators, Magdeburg started just as furiously as in the 3-0 win against Schalke and had two chances to score after just five minutes, which FCN goalkeeper Carl Klaus quickly destroyed.

For 20 minutes, the Magdeburg team constricted the “club” in their half, then the guests broke free and scored twice in the Magdeburg goal, but both Uzun and Sebastian Andersson were offside when they shot. Overall, Magdeburg had the game under control, but the last pass lacked precision. In addition, the red-banned striker Luca Schuler was sorely missed in the middle of the attack.

The second half started slowly. It always became dangerous for Nuremberg when Tatsuya Ito came into the game on the left wing. The Japanese could rarely be disturbed. Klaus had to clear against him twice (51st/56th). The Franks didn’t make any progress forward for a long time before Uzun scored.
