His time at VfL Wolfsburg ended unhappily, now Paul-Georges Ntep is ending his active career after a final short stint in Vietnam. For the 32-year-old attacker, “Football today is just a nice memory, but it’s over,” he explained in an interview with “Radio France“.

VfL and Ntep’s time in the Bundesliga were not discussed in the conversation. He spent the “best three years” of his career at Stade Rennes; “the happiest years of my life”. In the winter of 2017, the Cameroonian left Rennes for Wolfsburg for 5 million euros.

However, Ntep only played 19 games (3 assists) in his first year at VfL before he was loaned out to AS Saint-Étienne and Kayserispor and pushed for an exit. In Wolfsburg he was only on the pitch for a few games in the Lower Saxony second team that existed at the time. The contract was ended in 2020, Ntep spent another year each at EA Guingamp and Boavista Porto and, after being without a club for a long time, another six months until March of this year in Ho Chi Minh City at HCMC FC.
